Sri Ramana Maharshi - a list of free resources
I first learned about Ramana Maharshi while attending a Sound Healing session in Austin, Texas in October 2019. It’s not uncommon that I meet intriguing characters at Sound Healing events, which is part of what draws me in.
I made a new friend, Keith, who mentioned that I should look into the life of Ramana Maharshi. He sent me a link to the free documentary you see above.
You’ll watch it when you’re ready.
It sat in my inbox for a year before I came around to it.
Here’s some quotes to give you a taster:
“Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations. You are originally unlimited and perfect. Later you take on limitations and become the mind.”
”The degree of freedom from unwanted thoughts and the degree of concentration on a single thought are the measures to gauge spiritual progress.”
”Our own self-realization is the greatest service we can render the world.”
I’ve come to find a plethora of free information translating the wisdom shared by Ramana Maharshi. I haven’t dedicated the time and energy to digesting this content, but I want to share it with you.
There’s much more, but here’s what I can share with you now:
Happiness of Being: The Teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
This is a blog put together by Michael James, who has seemingly dedicated his life to translating Maharshi’s work.
Happiness and The Art of Being An introduction to the philosophy and practice of the spiritual teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana (Free PDF)
Thanks to Michael James, we have free access to this incredible book. Again, I haven’t read it. I’m not a big reader, but hopefully you will read it and then tell me about it. That’s how I learn.
The Ultimate Guide to Ramana Maharshi's Self-Inquiry
This is a well written guide to everything Ramana Maharshi. It is part of the Sifting To The Truth blog, which is worth checking out for anyone who’s interested.
Let me know if you take a deep dive! I’d love to learn from your perspective.
