Wassu x Army of Love 2020 Top Tracks
We’re on a mission to bring back the essence of Techno Tuesday.
This week, we’re joined by our brother Wassu for a chat about our favorite tracks of 2020.
Below, you’ll find links for all the tracks we discussed. If you’re using Tidal and want links, let us know. Even if it’s one person who wants something, we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Feedback is greatly appreciated, but most importantly I hope this music can bring you closer to love.

Tom Day, Monsoonsiren - Elegiac (Makebo Remix)
[Ruvenzori]
Wassu starts the show and brings us right to Russia.
What a year for Makebo. We both agreed that he’s one of our favorite producers at the moment.
If you don’t know this track, sit back and enjoy. I highly recommend you check out the other remix on this EP as well - From Afar.
Thank you Makebo!!
Makebo - Just a Dream
[All Day I Dream]
We ain’t going nowhere! It’s still Makebo time.
It’s my turn and I start off with Makebo’s Just a Dream. First heard this in The Gardens of Babylon/GHIZ set last January - instantly fell in love.
To be 100% honest, in hindsight I would trade this track if I had the chance. My substitute would be:
Amonita, Makebo - Symphonic Fantasy
I’m not sure how I left that track off this list… but there you go, now it’s here.
Russia is representing big time.
Tim Green - Mobara
[TrybesOf]
Wassu books a flight out of Russia and selects Tim Green’s Mobara.
What a tune it is.
I have to admit, I slept on this track when it came out.
Heard it.
Liked it.
Didn’t play it much.
After the interview with Wassu I’ve been jamming this tune daily.
What a groove.
Jody Wisternoff, James Grant - Nightwhisper (Gorje Hewek Remix) [Anjunadeep]
My turn. Back to Russia.
When I’m curating music, it’s 95% based on how the music makes me feel.
This was my go-to “feel good” track of 2020. As a result, it made its way into this conversation.
If you watch the full conversation with Wassu, I explain how I fell in love with the original version of Nightwhisper. Then Gorje Hewek teased that he was remixing it, that turned me on. Then the remix came out and I had an orgasm.
There’s something about following the journey of a track before its release that is extremely fulfilling.
More of that to come. My goal is to build a platform that allows us to share that joy together as a community… making friends along the way.
Travertia - Utro Na Zemle
[Forestrip]
Wassu time. Russia time.
It’s incredible how many selections are coming out of Russia. From the bottom to the top of my heart, I am sending a HUGE thank you to Russia.
This is another track that I heard when it came out, liked it, but didn’t play it much.
After this convo, boom this one is in rotation.
As Wassu mentioned in the interview, the bassline on this tune is wooooooooo.
Get in there, enjoy.
Khen - Out Of A Dream
[Lost Miracle]
My turn, Khen for the closer.
Wow, what a tune this is. Damn near perfection for me.
He builds it up for 2 minutes and gives you a perfect beat to lock a groove on that journey.
Then banngggg, ah goddamn I can’t even write about this song - just listen to it.
ALSO… the other track on this EP, Manginot, is incredible as well.
Wassu - Escape
[Tales of Romance]
We asked Wassu for his favorite personal production of the year.
He replied with Escape, a track he produced in the midst of the pandemic and riots in 2020.
With so much going on in the world, music gave him an opportunity to escape it all, and he shared it with us.
Lovely.
Alright there’s our list of top tracks AND there’s more. First and foremost, let’s get to our sets of the year. No commentary here, just listen and the music will tell you everything you need to know.
