What you get:
Music Sourcing
My intention is to educate you to become more well versed in exploring the world of music.
I’ll be updating playlists and providing tracks in an easy and accessible way, but there’s a deeper vision.
on the surface
Access to New Tracks Playlist - I’m checking shit daily, I’ll be updating my selections as well as notable releases that “aren’t my cup of tea”
Trip Reports from my research process - Well organized summary of what I learned that day (links to artists, record labels, slowly building out the music map I’ve always dreamed of)
Heads up on upcoming releases - Using crates.co / beatport to keep an eye on upcoming releases + promos + homie connections… I have decent visibility into the future and this will only grow as the project grows
Training/Education on my research processes and how to set it up - Been doing this for years, I have a nice system
community aspect
I want to connect producers/djs/music lovers with each other
Sharing tracks… sharing DJ/Production wisdom… connecting for collaboration … I LOVE THIS STUFF. I’m energized by connecting you and this is where my heart is.
Over time, we’ll establish our own language and vastly improve our ability to communicate about music. Coming up with clever names for types of sounds/tracks/genres/vibes (spooky groovers, cuban cigar sunglasses vibe, clickity clackers, lion king vocals, etc)
A big dream of mine is to organize “focus trips” with 4-8 producers and rent a cabin in the woods and go fucking deeeeep into music paired with healthy lifestyle habits *(if this resonates with you, please let me know - this is where my deepest calling is)
zoom meetings / retreats to discuss and check in on mental health for artists/creatives (we’re weirdos.. we’re sensitive.. we’re trying to be vulnerable putting our art out there… there’s a lot of shit going on for an artist and I want to hold space to help you process the emotions and come to a centered place where you can create from love and not pressure/fear)
your involvement in the community aspect is optional, but can you imagine if 147 music lovers came together to help each other? sheeeeeesh… I feel it.
artist development
I want to help you understand the landscape of record labels
help you find sounds that fit your sets
help you find labels to submit music to
I want to use my existing connections and growing network to help your career grow in alignment with your authentic sound
If you are a producer, your releases will be added to the Beatportify Playlist.
Furthermore I’d like to highlight your releases on the Army of Love website (will be the new home… IG will be used to broadcast, website will be the army of love home).
I want to encourage connection + support within the community.
My goal is to present you as a human, as well as your art to this community of love balls that I’m attracting. It doesn’t mean they’re gonna like your shit, but you’re going to get more intentional listens this way, which in my observation is the best you can ask for. Intentional Listens offer presence from the listener - this is the ideal environment for your art to be received. What happens from there isn’t up to us.
By highlighting the human aspects of your life, along with the music - the audience already feels a connection with you. There’s a reflection, whether they realize it or not. The more “open / authentic / vulnerable” you are - the deeper you touch the audience (no pressure, we just want you to be yourself, and I’m here to be hosting super soft/supportive podcast interviews for the artists who want to step into this). If that human connection is felt - the way they then listen to your music is entirely different.
From my internal observation, most music i listen to is coming from an escaping frequency. I’m bored or uncomfortable so I go to music to feel better. Super cool tool, but not really, because I’m coming to the music with an expectation. I need the music to be a certain way to give me what I’m seeking in that moment. If the music isn’t sweet enough to distract me from my pain, well then ‘that track sucks.’ (spoiler alert, this applies to how we treat everything in life)
When I’ve felt a human connection with an artist, I commonly slip into intentional listen mode. This is where I’m present and excited to give my attention to the art. This is a mucccccch different listen. Rather than listening with tense/skeptical ears, the vessel to receive is relaxed and my heart is rested in support. It’s such a beautiful way to experience music, and life. When I’m centered, almost every track sounds nice. I can almost catch a groove to silence…Here’s a good way to sum it up actually…
YOU… the artist… focus on what is coming out of the speakers.I… will focus on education on how the sound is being received, and how much FUCKING JUICE we can get out of music/sound/parties when
a) you’re living from your center vs stuck in ego/thinking mind
b) doing parties in the right environments which are safe to surrender and melt away into oneness, together.
I see a masssssssive opportunity to bring the fans of music and the artists closer to each other. I’m quite bothered by the amount of stress and energy I see going into social media for artists these days. That’s a different book that I will write, but for now, I want to say this.
I work with a few producers/DJs/record labels. I talk to a shit load of artists. Almost all of them are stressing over social media. Having to post more frequently, needing the content to feel good enough, feeling overwhelmed.
IT IS ABSURDDDDDDDD.
I see a big picture play to bring artists closer to fans without all this bullshit ass social media and promotors only booking people based on their IG followers (rather than SoundCloud stats). It’s all fucked up. I hear cool artists stressing about it all the time.. it hurts my head and my heart, BUTTTTTTTTT deeeeeeeep down I realize, it had to get this shitty before we finally made a real fucking change.
And the change I’m seeing may take 10-15 years, but I know for daaaaaamn sure that I’m going to create a microcosm of that vision in my own life over the next years, and I’m inviting you to contribute to this vision, for team US. It’s important to plant these seeds and if you’re feeling me, we can connect and nurture the seed for however it will gro.. but think BIG goddamnit.
this is a first draft so forgive me if it’s a bit scatter brained, but here we go….
Music is undervalued… people aren’t really aware of it, because we attach to convenience - but it’s so obvious that I’m confident I can bring the necessary awareness to the fans.
In October, I spent $8 on spotify and $170 on tobacco/weed/junk food.
Music is the most important thing in my life and look at that.
This comes from living a life lacking presence, stuck on loop, subsconscious patterns running the show.
Well, the bigger vision of my life is to help people break these patterns, and live life from a centered place with more conscious choices.
I’ve been talking a lot with the cool people I meet and I hear the same shit every time. People love music. People want to go to parties and TAP IN / TUNE IN / DROP IN to the music and share that vibe openly and freely on a dancefloor.
Maybe 2/5 parties they go to offer the space to tap in the way they’d like.
It’s either too crowded, or the majority of people are super high and not dancing, or 83% of the crowd is chatting, while the 4 music lovers huddle close to a speaker and make the most of it.
Look, I’m a big fan of making the most of it, this is lovely. BUT WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DOING?!?!?! !!? !?>EWDAOGKJFADSFKJ
I’m meeting super tuned in, amazing people who want to surrender to sound and share love on the dancefloor and we’re stuck in these shitty environments with no energy flow

If the community continues to grow, and artists and fans are feeling the connection - imagine where this goes in 7-8 years… this is ultimately an investment in yourself and the scene as a whole.
